Here, you'll find answers to some questions that we get asked a lot. But feel free to drop us a line if there's anything else you'd like to know. We'd be happy to hear from you!

How high and how far can you fly?

We're restricted law to 400ft above ground level. This is to allow separation from with other aircraft who might be flying in the area. In terms of distance, we can fly up to 500m away from us as long as we maintain visual line of sight with the drone at all times. These limits are actually quite generous and allow us a lot of scope. Any higher than 400ft and things start to look less interesting and more flat. That said, it's not unusual to buzz around at 400ft to get those nice high wides!

Can you fly at night?

Yes we can. Unlike most drone operators, we have an extended permission which allows us to operate at any time, night or day.

What flight times can you get?

This depends on what machine we're flying. But anything between around 8 minutes and 20 minutes per set of batteries.

What happens if you run out of battery?

We bring with lots and lots of batteries with us to a shoot, but equally we're prepared for the fact that having some kind of charging facility might be necessary. For that reason, we have a power generator which can be set up to allow remote charging on site. We can also hook up an inverter to our vehicle and charge smaller batteries that way.

What happens if it rains?

We will monitor the weather in the days leading up to the shoot and advise you if we believe that it might be questionable. Ultimately, it's your responsibility to make a weather call and we would need 24 hours notice if you do want to reschedule. That said, most of the time we can find between gaps in bad weather to fly in, so it's less of an issue than you may think!
